Marty founded De Rito Partners in 1992 in Phoenix, AZ, USA and quickly grew it into one of Arizona’s largest property development, acquisition, management and brokerage firms specializing in retail, automotive, and industrial in Arizona, USA. Today, De Rito Partners is a multi-faceted development, investment and services firm that consists of three entities.
De Rito Partners Development, Inc. specializes in the development and acquisition of select retail and mixed-use properties. The company has developed 23 first-class retail and automotive properties totaling more than 5.3 million square feet and/or acquired and redeveloped 46 retail properties throughout the greater Phoenix area. The total number of retail and automotive properties that have been developed and redeveloped currently stands at 69 assets in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
De Rito Property Management, LLC offers premier quality property management services for retail properties of any size. The company currently manages approximately 18 properties, totaling more than 1.9 million square feet.
De Rito Partners, Inc. is a full-service retail brokerage firm that specializes in property leasing and tenant representation. The firm currently represents more than 115 retail shopping centers, buildings and land, and has more than 50 tenant representation accounts.
Before founding De Rito Partners, Marty received a Bachelor of Science, Finance from Arizona State University in 1985 and became a Harvard University alumnus in February 2013. He has more than 34 years of commercial real estate experience, beginning with CBS Property Service in 1986 and Grubb & Ellis in 1987, before forming De Rito Partners in 1992.
Marty has been named Arizona Commercial Real Estate Magazines ‘Top People to Know’ and is a member of the Chief Executives Organization (CEO), YPO Gold, and was the Arizona State Director of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). He enjoys traveling, learning, and attending Phoenix Suns basketball games and spring training games, as well as spending time with his amazing children, Tarina, Martin, and Jake.
Chuck was born and raised in Arizona. Following 11 years in the oil business, he joined Grubb & Ellis Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Company in 1986. He and partner, Marty De Rito, specialized in retail and hospitality property sales and leasing. In May of 1992, Chuck was hired by Grossman Company Properties as Senior Vice President and Director of Leasing in charge of the purchase, sale and leasing of company-owned retail and office properties. Chuck was responsible for the renaissance of the 575,000 square foot Biltmore Fashion Park and the development of The Park at Chandler, a 280,000 square foot mixed-use power center/office complex. In 2003, Chuck and Marty reunited to develop the 100-acre Chandler Auto Park, the Mesa Riverview 250-acre mixed-use project that included a 1.3 million square foot shopping center and 40-acre auto mall. In early 2008, they purchased the 1 million square foot Scottsdale Pavilions regional power center (renamed The Pavilions at Talking Stick) to develop and reposition it as a retail/entertainment hub. Chuck has 33 years of commercial real estate experience, specializing in the sale, leasing and development of retail properties.
2003 – Joined De Rito Partners Development, Inc., Arizona’s leading retail property development company, as President. Responsible for overseeing all functions of the development company including all subsidiaries and partnerships.
1992 to 2003 – Senior Vice President/Director of Leasing/Designated Broker, Grossman Company Properties. Responsible for all issues related to company-owned regional malls, power centers, lifestyle and neighboring shopping centers and office properties, leasing, tenant relations, overseeing property management and construction and serving as liaison to the accounting department as well as financial partners.
1986 to 1992 – Retail Properties Specialist, Grubb & Ellis. Joined the company’s retail properties division specializing in the sale and leasing of retail projects, the sale of hotel facilities and related land parcels.

Iver Bowden, is a partner in various projects acquired by the firm and its related entities. He joined De Rito Partners Development Inc. in 2007 and has twenty years of U.S. and international experience in all aspects of site development, acquisition, asset management, appraisal and consulting.
For five years prior to joining De Rito Partners Development Inc. he managed his own investments and acted as a real estate consultant and appraiser. As an Arizona Certified General Appraiser, he provided appraisal and consulting service for commercial properties. From 1998 to 2001 he held the position of SVP of Development for Sydran Services, LLC of San Ramon, California. His responsibilities included managing the acquisition of existing restaurants, new site development, and asset management responsibility for 300 existing locations.
From 1987 to 1998 he worked for McDonalds Corporation as a real estate development specialist with increasing levels of responsibility. In those roles he was directly responsible for the acquisition and construction of hundreds of new restaurant sites. Positions included responsibility for domestic markets within the United States and for eight years various international markets, encompassing over thirty different countries.
Doug has 39 years of combined experience in design, construction, and development of a broad spectrum of projects that includes office, retail, institutional and industrial. Following 20 years working as an Architect with DMJM, he joined the Koll Development Company in 1997 and developed several hundred thousand square feet of office and warehouse projects in the Phoenix metro area. He joined De Rito Partners in 2001 as Vice President of Development focusing on the day-to-day success of all of the company’s development projects.
Doug earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1977. Doug is a licensed Arizona Architect and is CCIM Certified. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the National Association of Realtors (NAR).
Cheri Buchholtz has more than 20 years of combined experience in accounting, real estate, manufacturing, and engineering. She is a Certified Public Accountant with a Master of Science in Accountancy and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
Cheri started her career interning with the Bureau of Reclamation at Hoover Dam and Lake Pleasant’s New Waddell Dam. She then spent more than five years with Frito-Lay, Inc. at their Casa Grande manufacturing facility where she managed production of Doritos, Fritos, and Cheetos, oversaw the plant’s supply chain into the Phoenix and Southern California markets, and prepared the plant’s annual budget for all production. During her time away from the workforce to raise her daughter, Cheri developed a love for accounting managing the finances for her husband’s software company. As her daughter entered high school, Cheri went back to school and pursued her new passion.
Prior to joining the De Rito team, Cheri moved up quickly to a Senior Accounting Manager for Cole Real Estate Investments and later to Vice President of Finance/Controller for APS BioGroup. Cheri is also an Arizona native and a fourth generation Realtor.
