Chuck was born and raised in Arizona.  After 11 years in the oil business, he joined Grubb & Ellis Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Company in 1986.  He and partner, Marty De Rito, specialized in retail and hospitality property sales and leasing.  In May of 1992, Chuck was hired by Grossman Company Properties as Senior Vice President and Director of Leasing in charge of the purchase, sale and leasing of company-owned retail and office properties.  Chuck was responsible for the renaissance of the 575,000 square foot Biltmore Fashion Park; the development of The Park at Chandler, a 280,000 square foot mixed-use power center/office complex, and worked on the redevelopment of a 100 acre mixed-use retail/office project in Boise, Idaho. 

21 years of commercial real estate experience, specializing in the sale, leasing and development of retail properties.

 

2003 joined De Rito Partners Development, Inc., Arizona’s leading retail property development company, as President.  Responsible for overseeing all functions of the development company including all subsidiaries and partnerships.

1992 to 2003 – Senior Vice President/Director of Leasing/Designated Broker, Grossman Company Properties.  Responsible for all issues related to company-owned regional malls, power centers, lifestyle and neighborhood shopping centers and office properties leasing, tenant relations, overseeing property management and construction and serving as liaison to the accounting department as well as financial partners.

1986 to 1992 – Retail Properties Specialist, Grubb & Ellis.  Joined the company’s retail properties division specializing in the sale and leasing of retail projects, the sale of hotel facilities and related land parcels.

Over 18 years Construction and Development Manager/Owner’s Representative experience for governmental, retail and commercial office building projects, with last 10 years focused solely on retail development.  In 2003, Tom joined De Rito Partners Development, Inc., as Project Manager and has provided construction and development related services in the creation of five neighborhood retail centers, comprising approximately 500,000 square feet of leasable area. Tom has ongoing involvement with new retail construction and project development.

2002-2003 – Construction/Development Manager, The Ellman Companies

Provided development and construction management services specifically in the re-development of a previous mall site to a Wal-Mart anchored power center and the development of mixed-use facilities adjacent to the new Glendale Coyotes Arena.

 

 

2000-2002 – Construction/Development Manager, Koll Development Company.
Provided development and construction management services for a 350,000 square foot retail center, 200,000 square foot office project and various office and light industrial tenant improvements.

1994 – 2000 – Construction/Development Manager, The Ellman Companies
Managed the construction of all building and site development, tenant construction and coordination and municipal interface relating to retail “power centers” developed by the company.  Completed four power centers within the Phoenix and Denver areas, with direct control of over $25 million in construction contracts.

Sole construction representative for tenant improvements, capital improvements and “build-to-suit” solicitations.  Dual role as Property Manager overseeing office, retail and industrial properties owned by the company or managed under third-party agreements.
