Hobby Lobby will open a store at the Pavilions at Talking Stick in Scottsdale this fall. The Pavilions is at Indian Bend Road and Loop 101.This will be Hobby Lobby’s ninth location in the Phoenix metro area. The Oklahoma City, Okla.-based company has 475 stores in 40 states.
The craft superstore will take about 55,000 square feet of the former Mervyn’s space at the Pavilions. It’s expected to open Oct. 1. De Rito Partners Inc. owns and manages the power center. “We are excited to add Hobby Lobby to the Pavilions at Talking Stick,” said De Rito CEO Marty De Rito.
Other tenants include Target and Mountainside Fitness. Dave Cheatham, managing principal of Velocity Retail Group, which represents Hobby Lobby, said an undisclosed location is under negotiation for a 10th local store that would open in the first quarter of 2012.
