Maricopa Closer to Having New Hotel

Council approves site-plan for Holiday Inn Express, ‘Plaza’; hotel expected to be completed by September.

The idea of guests chilling at a Holiday Inn in Maricopa moved forward at the Feb. 1 city council meeting, with the council approving the site plan for a 43,500 square-foot, three-story hotel building and three other commercial buildings.

Owners of Tempe Irish pub eager to open one in downtown Scottsdale

The founders of Robbie Fox's Public House in Tempe are eager to open a second Irish pub in downtown Scottsdale.

Last summer, Moirbia Scottsdale LLC signed a lease to occupy more than half of a vacant building on the western side of Scottsdale Road just south of Second Street and next door to Salty Señorita. It planned to open Maggie Fox's Public House early this year, but the project has been delayed for several months because of city permit issues.
